Pipe Tracing

Often customers are not sure of which way their pipes run or need to know where a pipe fault is located so a repair can be carried out. ADC Drains can accurately locate the position of the pipe or any particular defect and mark it for you at ground level. Before you lift a shovel, allow ADC Drains to use our sonde systems in conjunction with our high pressure jetting and CCTV surveying equipment and we will tell you exactly where the problem is located. No need to lose time and money digging in the wrong place!

ADC Drains uses a range of tracing equipment to track your drainage systems. Our standard equipment is accurate to depths of up to 5m. Our equipment travels though the pipe itself so is not affected by pipe material.

Benefits of Drain Tracing

DIG WITH CONFIDENCE
In addition to safety reasons, it is important to know exactly where to dig so that there is no time and money wasted digging in the wrong place.

DRAIN MAPPING
ADC Drains can provide a full underground service mapping solution. This includes the supply of accurate AutoCAD drawings with the details of your drainage system.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
If you are planning an extension or new build, you will need to know where the existing drains are positioned and at what depth they are laid. ADC Drains can find this important information and you can then plan with confidence

Odour Tracing

Drain smells in your home are never pleasant, often embarrassing and typically intermittent. If you experience foul odours in your property which you suspect may be related to the drains, ADC Drains can track down the source of the problem using our specialist smoke testing equipment. Once found, ADC Drains drain repair teams can fix the problem for good.

As these smells tend to come and go, it can be frustrating trying to figure out where the problem is coming from, particularly if they have disappeared by the time we arrive on site! Using our specialist smoke testing machine, we will introduce smoke to the drainage system which will follow the flow of air in the pipework and then will escape from the pipe at the same point as the smell. We can then trace the smoke visually and establish the location and nature of the fault.

Tips For Keeping Your Drains Clean and Smelling Good

Drains and garbage disposals can trap bad smells inside. Keep them clear by pouring three tablespoons of baking soda down the drain every month.

Leave it for 10 minutes and then pour in half cup white vinegar. It will fizz up and clear out any stuck-on grime. Then rinse with hot water. If you have a garbage disposal, send down a cup of warm water and a chopped up lemon once a week to combat any odours trapped inside.

If these tips do not work it is very important not to overdo it, as you might damage the pipes even more. If you hesitate in any way please feel free to call us straight away as our specialists will be happy to help you out.
